Trademarks
SumOffice, SumDoc, SumSheet and SumSlide are trademarks of HISS. SumOffice is an independent product, not affiliated with or endorsed by Microsoft. Microsoft, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, VBA and Power Query are trademarks of Microsoft; Atlassian, Jira and Confluence are trademarks of Atlassian. All are trademarks of their respective owners, used here only to describe compatibility.
Privacy notice
The Controller of the data collected through this website is HISS (identified above).
What we collect. This website carries a Google tag (Google Ads and Google Analytics) and, once you accept cookies, a Yandex Metrica counter — both used only to see which pages and ads bring people here. Until you accept, Google receives only anonymous, cookieless signals and Metrica is not loaded at all; “Only necessary” keeps it that way. Your choice is remembered in your browser and can be reset by clearing site data. The only personal data we process is what you choose to send us by email — your address and the content of your message — which we use solely to answer you and, where you ask for one, to run an evaluation or a trial.
Documents you send us. Files shared for evaluation are used only to test them against the engine, are not shared with third parties, and are deleted on request.
Your rights. Under the GDPR you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction or portability of your data, and object to its processing, by writing to hello@sumoffice.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the Spanish supervisory authority (AEPD).
SumOffice for Google Drive
SumOffice for Google Drive lets you open a file from Google Drive with “Open with → SumOffice”, edit it in SumSheet, SumDoc or SumSlide, and save it back to Drive.
What we access. Only the files you open with SumOffice (Google permission drive.file), and the permission to appear in Drive’s “Open with” menu (drive.install). We cannot see or list your other Drive files. To show your name in the editor we read your Google display name and e-mail address.
How we use it. Only to open the file you chose, keep it while you edit and write each save back to the same Drive file as a new revision. We do not use Google user data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to train artificial intelligence models.
Storage. The file and your Google access token are held in memory on our server for the editing session only; the token never reaches your browser. Nothing is kept after the session ends, apart from short technical logs without file contents and, only if your last changes could not be saved back to Drive, a copy kept to give back to you (write to hello@sumoffice.com to have it deleted). Sharing. We do not share Google user data with anyone, except as required by law.
Your control. You can remove SumOffice’s access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Questions: hello@sumoffice.com.
Google API Services User Data Policy. SumOffice’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
SumOffice for Jira and Confluence
SumOffice for Jira and SumOffice for Confluence are Atlassian Forge apps that let a user open an .xlsx, .xlsm, .xlsb, .docx or .pptx attachment of a Jira issue or a Confluence page in the SumSheet, SumDoc or SumSlide browser editor and save it back. This section is the privacy policy of both apps.
What we process. Only when a user opens an attachment: the content and file name of that attachment, the issue key or page ID it belongs to, and the Atlassian account ID and display name of the user who opened it (the name is shown to co-editors of the same file).
How. Atlassian Forge signs every call to our service at atlassian.sumoffice.com and passes a short-lived token of the user who opened the file. Our service has no permissions of its own: every read and every write is made with that user’s rights, so a user can open and save only what they can already see and change in Jira or Confluence. The Atlassian token never reaches the browser.
Storage. We do not store End-User Data. The service has no database and writes nothing to disk. The file is held in memory while it is being edited; the editing session (user, file, token) lives in memory for at most 12 hours and is discarded on restart. Technical logs contain no file contents.
Where. Amazon Web Services, region eu-central-1 (Frankfurt, Germany). Subprocessor: Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL.
Role under the GDPR. For the attachments and user data above HISS acts as a processor on behalf of the customer who installed the app.
Sharing. We do not sell End-User Data, do not use it for advertising or to train artificial intelligence models, and do not share it with anyone except as required by law.

Use of SumOffice is governed by our Terms of Service.
This notice covers sumoffice.com, SumOffice for Google Drive and SumOffice for Jira and Confluence. Files checked at sumoffice.com/check are handled as described on that page and are never sent to Google or anyone else. If we later add analytics or downloads requiring accounts, this page will be updated first.
